She graduated from the LEPL Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and received a qualification in economics. She is currently a doctoral student at the Central European University.
From 2006 to 2015, she worked as an authorization and accreditation expert, covering higher education institutions, colleges and general education schools.
From 2013 to 2019, she was the Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the European University LLC.
From 2012 to 2015, she headed the Quality Assurance and Development Service of the Tbilisi Teaching University LLC.
From September 2011 to January 2012, she headed the Adult Education Center at the same university.
From May 2019 to present, she is an expert on vocational training and retraining programs at the National Center for Education Quality Development LEPL.
From July 2019 to present, she has been working as an expert on the accreditation of the professional development program of a professional civil servant at the same center.
From November 2019 to April 2020, she worked as an advisor to the rector at Europe University LLC.
From May to October 2020, she held the position of advisor to the president of Europe University LLC.
From October 2020 to the present, she holds the position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service at the University of Sports.
Since 2023, she has been a member of the Sports Sectoral Characteristics Development Group.
Maia has participated in the Erasmus Plus Administrative Staff Mobility Program at the Vasil Levski Sports Academy in Bulgaria.
She has completed training on quality assurance and improvement organized by the Netherlands Accreditation Agency (NVAO).
She has also participated in trainings by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR), which included studying the quality assurance system in accordance with ESG and WFME standards.
