Author’s Guide

Originality of the paper

The international scientific journal “Innovations in Sports Science and Health” is based on modern academic publication standards and aims to publish high-quality, original scientific papers. The journal serves to create and disseminate evidence-based knowledge in various disciplines of sports science, such as sports biomechanics and physiology, sports medicine and rehabilitation, psychology, physical education, sports pedagogy, sports management and policy, health science in the context of sports and other related interdisciplinary studies.

The publication will only accept papers that reflect the results of independently conducted original research. We reject superficial or repetitive studies that do not create new knowledge or are not based on clearly formulated research questions. Articles should be based on scientific methodology, clear data analysis and transparent Interpretation.

The journal values high standards of scientific ethics – the work must be free from plagiarism and duplication. All articles undergo double blind peer review to ensure the impartiality of authors and reviewers is protected to the maximum extent.

With this approach, the journal creates a reliable academic platform that meets the requirements of the international scientific community and supports the professional development of a new generation of researchers.

Who can be an author? Co-author?

The journal is open to master’s students (co-authored with a scientific supervisor), doctoral students, young and experienced researchers.

Articles can be submitted both individually and with co-authorship.

It is necessary to submit the contact information and affiliation of each co-author to the editorial office.

Each co-author must confirm the co-authorship of the article to the official e-mail of the journal. Without this confirmation, the request for publication of the article will not be considered.

The author is obliged to indicate which co-author is responsible for which specific component/part of the work.

In the case of a work prepared with co-authorship, it is necessary that the parts of the research are conceptually and structurally combined so as not to violate the content integrity and unified style of the article.

Authors may have collaborators who have contributed to non-scientific components of the work (e.g., technical support, data collection, textual assistance, language editing and proofreading, etc.). In such cases, these individuals should be cited as collaborators and not as co-authors.

Ethics of paper submission

The paper should be distinguished by a clear structure, logical analysis of the problem, reasoned conclusions and evidence-based recommendations.

The sources used should be modern, authoritative and thematically diverse. Special attention is paid to literature available in Georgian and international scientific databases.

The text should convey ideas in simple, clear and academically accurate language.

Avoid professional jargon and overly complex terminology. If abbreviations are necessary, their full form should be indicated first.

If abbreviations are used in the text, it is necessary to indicate their full form when first mentioned, and then only the abbreviated version should be used.

For example: “The World Health Organization (WHO) states…”

Following: “WHO also notes that…”

It is not permissible to divide a single study into several works just to increase the number of publications – each work must be thematically and structurally independent.

All submitted studies must comply with the principles of scientific integrity and the journal’s code of ethics, which includes – correct citation of sources, exclusion of plagiarism and data manipulation.
